[Aquatic] [Library] [Technology] [Playground Equipment]
Bracken Ridge State School is fortunate enough to have excellent facilities to cater for most aquatic activities. Bracken Ridge State School has a six lane, 25m swimming pool. All school classes benefit from weekly Swimming Lessons in Terms 1 and 4 (summer). A number of recent additions have been made to the Pool Facilities. A new 'Learn to Swim' pool has been built in an area adjoining the main pool. This pool has been designed to cater for this purpose with shallow depth, ramp entry, and large benches on either end. Another addition to the pool complex is the protective shade cloth structures covering a significant area of the pool's surface.
The pool is also in use before and after school by Bracken Ridge Amateur Swimming Club. The Bracken Ridge 'Wizards', as they are known, cater for 'Learn to Swim' classes, through to advanced squad training. For further information on Club details please contact the club on 3869 0005.

Library
The Library is staffed by Miss Louise Celledoni and Ms Jill Borrowdale. The books are catalogued using the Alice for Windows Cataloguing System. It is computer based software and allows borrowing and returning of books to be much easier. All the resources in the Library have been catalogued onto Oasis therefore allowing a fully automated borrowing/returning system. The Library is divided into; Junior Fiction, Fiction, Non-Fiction, Quarto Non-Fiction, Teacher Resources and an Audio - Visual section. All children are encouraged to borrow books and classes have an allocated borrowing time, as well as their normal Library lessons. Library lessons for individual classes are a result of co-operative planning between Miss Celledoni and the Classroom Teacher.

Technology
Bracken Ridge State School is well equipped to educate our students in ways to cope with current uses of Technology. We have equipped our Library with 15 IBM compatible computers. These are linked to the Internet. In addition to this, each Year Four class has two Computers and each Year 5, 6 and 7 class has three computers. Every computer in Years 4 - 7 is connected to the Internet, and therefore has access to e-mail facilities. An additional computer lab has been set up for the junior section of the school.
Playground Equipment
The playground areas at Bracken Ridge are separated into areas for the Junior, Middle and Upper Schools. Each area has it's own Adventure Playground. The Junior and Senior areas have two Adventure Playgrounds each. All Adventure Playground equipment satisfies Workplace, Health and Safety requirements. As well as these playgrounds Bracken Ridge makes use of its asphalted netball/basketball courts, cricket nets, and oval for Sports Training and playtime use.
